The Story Behind the Name "CudaBear..."

So, when I (Doniele) was a little girl...many many moons ago, I would call a "Barracuda" ~"A CudaBear".
This was something that has stuck with me for years...it reminds me of much simpler times...Then my bio Mom came up with the "Lair" part and was actually planning to name her beach-house, "CudaBear's Lair" but I claimed it for something way more significant...

Mission

Mission

Cudabear’s Lair Animal Sanctuary envisions a peaceful world rooted in respect and justice for all living beings. We rescue a wide range of animals including livestock. Our animal residents are given lifelong sanctuary, are treated with respect, & given a lot of unconditional love. By giving these animals the chance to live their lives with dignity and by sharing their stories, we aim to reduce animal overpopulation, unnecessary euthanasia & breed misinformation.

Who We Are

Family owned and operated.

We have been rescuing animals for as long as we can remember...whether it be a pregnant two-legged cat; a kitten thrown out of a moving car; a rabbit left on the side of the road in the rain; a horse beat-down and starved; or 2 goats abandoned in a field to fen for themselves...It's safe to say our compassion for animals is a lot more than skin-deep.
We started CudaBears Lair Animal Sanctuary "officially" in 2019 ~ We currently house approximately 70+ animals of several types & species.
And they all have a story to tell...
